Principal’s Report (Mrs. Leddy)
Mrs. Leddy informed parents that the March calendar will be sent home. Yesterday evening the high school held the EP Townie Sports Night. This event honors student athletes who have demonstrated good sportsmanship.

Today the 5th graders participated in the Rooster games at Gordon School. One of our 5th graders was given a special award for reading all of the 20 books on the reading list.

On 3/12 there will be a whole school assembly which will be focusing on good character and good habits. The assembly will be done in a fun and interactive way. On 3/23 and 3/25 the After School Program will begin.

The Book Fair will occur on 3/24-3/26. In the evening, on the 25th, families are invited to come to the book fair that evening.

Reading Week will occur during the week of April 12th. Most of the plans are in place. Mrs. Leddy will send home a calendar for that week. The theme for this is will be mystery. The guest author will be Lucinda Landon, who lives in Rhode Island, and has written a children's mystery series about a girl detective, named Meg Mac Intosh. Ms. Landon's books will be on sale at the school. The books cost approximately $6.00. There is also a doll that will be sold for $12.00. There will be family event, with the guest author, one of the evenings that week.

For the April PTO meeting, Mrs. Leddy plans to go over the NECAP scores. Report cards will be sent home on 4/14.

April vacation is later this year (April 19-23) to coincide with Massachusetts' vacation week.

Treasurer’s Report (Sonda Pimental)
Sonda Pimental reported on last month's activity. Sonda said it was a light month. The Sweetheart Dance was successful again this year. The fundraising and profit for our budget is on target. There are field trips planned for later in the year. There have been increases for the admissions to the places and bus expenses have risen, but it should still be within the budget.

There were some teacher requests from the kindergarten teacher for 2 timers for each classroom. The timer will be used to help the children manage their school work The cost will be $160. This request was voted on and approved.

Chair Updates
Book Fair: The event will occur during school hours on 3/24-3/26. On the 25th the book fair will also run during the evening allowing families to come and purchase books.

Fundraising: Angela Kondon and Erin Tewksbury plan to step down as co-chairs for next year. They would like to continue to chair the holiday shopping night and sweetheart dance.

Yankee Candle: Eighty five orders have been made. The total was about $9,000 and the PTO will make 4% of that total, with an additional 3% on that.

Applebee's Restaurant Night is scheduled for March 24th. A flyer was sent home.

Safe Routes: Sonda Pimental has submitted the grant proposal. The school should hear back in a few months if we will get the grant. The survey that was sent out to families got a huge response. Some of the comments were added to the request. If the grant does get approved the school will get $75,000. Sixty-five thousand will go to building the sidewalk on Horsford. The remaining $10,000 will go to non-infrastructure costs. There will be a need to have a Safe Routes Team. Also the walk-a-thon will be incorporated into the program. (Note: Thank you to Sonda and Jeff Pimental for their hard work in getting the grant submitted.)

Boy's Event: Leslie Tente reported that the Mad Scientist will be performing a new program this year. There will dinner served with the performance following dinner. An array of raffle items will also be on hand to be won.
